Where does the data come from?
State licensing records from the Utah Department of Health and Human Services, public job postings, and the communities' own websites. Dollar figures use Medicare's published hospice rates. Every item names its source.
How do you keep it accurate?
Every figure passes three checks before it is sent: an automated check against the raw source, an independent re-derivation, and a human sign-off. Each item carries a confidence label, and anything we can't confirm is cut. Errors are corrected within 24 hours and logged.
Isn't Medicare's data two years old?
Medicare's claims data runs about 18 months behind for everyone, including the big analytics firms. We use it for one thing: how each competitor's business is built, like what share of its patients are in assisted living. Everything else comes from sources checked every week (leadership hiring, new licenses) or every quarter (ownership changes, family survey results). Every number shows its date and how fresh it is, so you always know which is which.
Our liaisons already know their buildings. Why do we need this?
They know the buildings they visit. Census Watch covers the ones they don't, shows who is winning each building, and flags changes at your accounts when they happen, not when your liaison next stops by.
Is this a referral service?
No. Census Watch is a flat-fee information service. We never accept payment tied to referrals, admissions or census, and we never steer patients.
Can my team use it?
Yes. A subscription covers your organization's team in one territory. It is licensed for internal use and may not be redistributed outside your organization.
Which areas do you cover?
All licensed assisted living communities in Utah. The free monthly brief starts with Salt Lake County, with Utah County next.
